And Duty Calls...

Crying...no Country Living Fair for me...

Sniff Sniff

I have been selected for jury duty...
Still crying...

but proud to live in a country that we have the opportunity to serve.

Stay tuned...while being bummed out,
my sister and I decided to just grab the saw and make over her headboard on her four poster bed...

  1. Uh-oh- I have a feeling your took all your angst out on that poor, poor headboard! Can't wait to see it. Maybe the criminal will have a pumpkin head so you can pretend you're at the fair? xo Diana

  2. I was going to try and go with another blog friend and my daughter but just couldn't work it out for this year...maybe next year!

I'm a paralegal, work for an atty.and retired judge, but got picked for jury duty last year anyway...knew the attorneys, knew the judge, etc. but still got picked! Luckily the case settled after 3 days of b-o-r-in-g testimony! Good luck on jury duty, take a book or good magazine and maybe you'll make a new friend or two!

  3. OHHHH that is sad! But good for you! I got to laughing so hard when I read the words "saw" and your "sisters bed!" I noticed on her blog that she had been talking about changing things up-If anyone can do it, it's you two! Anytime my husband complains about my tweaking ideas I'm going to show him your and Susie's blogs! :) Have fun!

  4. OOOOOOOH Bummer! Do we need to work on getting you a dr's excuse to get out of this? Lol, I am just kidding, but I know your disappointed. We are heading to the Nashville flea market this coming up week-end, I'm not sure where you are in the South, but are you close enough to come to that? I loved it last time we went. Anyhoo, can't wait to see that headboard.
PS-I envy any girl that can use a saw!

  5. Feel for you on the jury duty. It is a cross between the "roll your eyes" reaction to having to sit for ? days and hoping you get picked for a non-boring trial (or told you're not needed & can go home) and the honor at being able to perform your civic duty. I sat once. For three days. Car accident. I had to swallow a gazillion yawns... Hopefully yours is more fun than mine! Can't wait to see the headboard. :)

  6. That stinks! Maybe you won't get picked for a case and will not have to stay the whole week! The last time I was on jury duty, I sat for three days waiting to be picked...got to read some good books.
Excited to see what you and your sister have been up to! I know it is going to be amazing!
