SEW SERENDIPITY

 A Ruffler Foot ...
Oh how I have longed for one.
While  I  was searching for the foot in a fabric shop,
Susie was browsing the books
(she is not a  fabricholoic)  and she found this great book.
I could not believe it...I had just watched the author,
Kay Whitt on the PBS show  Sewing with Nancy a few months earlier.  She was just so inspiring and  personable.

Well ya know how it goes,  in the south we feel like we know everyone ,
even if we've only seen them on t.v.
So the book came home with me!

You can see by the ruffles on the pocket and bottom of the skirt, my little attachment will come in very handy.

I just think these outfits are adorable.

Today I am going to embark on trying to make one of Kay's skirts.
If you have a ruffler foot attachment or
this book....PLEASE share any tips or advice...

P.S.     Thanks Susie for browsing the books!

I know I LOVE my ruffler! You will have so much fun with it. It can be a little tricky at first getting to know how to set it to what you want, but once you do... you will be ruffling everything!

When I first read ruffler foot...I was thinking WHAT IS THAT! :) Then I read further and saw you were sewing. Oh, I bet you will enjoy that attachment. I loved the patterns and fabrics you pictured for us. Talk about retro! I probably used to wear those back in the day!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind comment. I would love to have a ruffler attachment. I made my ruffles on pillows and slipcovers without one (just by ironing or loosely gathering) but my sister used one for my wedding dress and I know how useful they can be.

I had no idea there was even such thing as a ruffler foot! Just goes to show how old school I am...BUT now that I know it exists I must have one! :)
Cute post, love all the outfits!
