Beauty In Anxiety ? Yeah Right.

Fog...
Mornings that I awake to fog, my anxiety builds...
The thought of my children on the foggy road gives me
that nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach.

I call up to the kids...need to leave early fog ahead,
Silently hoping that the worst of the fog is just at the end of my driveway and they will soon encounter a clear path.
As with anything that causes anxiety...we seldom find beauty...
But, this morning was different...as I walked my daughter to the door, I let out a sigh.  The fog was lightly waifing across the field.
At that moment, there in the distance I see the fog and ever so slowly...there like the answer to a prayer,
the sun rising behind this majestic tree.
What beauty, I stood and just smiled that God allowed me to see beauty in the thing that gives me my morning anxiety...

My prayer for you today ...
May you find beauty, even with life's little anxieties.

It's funny-but that is one thing that produces anxiety in me, too. We have had a couple of the worst fog acvidents in the history of the Midwest here in the past few years...one of them involving our neighbor. I try to avoid driving in it when I can! xo Diana

Hi Melissa, ironic that you should post this! We had our first really foggy day, a couple of days ago. I was so concerned about my 17 year old driving herself to school! It was the first foggy day since she got her license over the summer. Needless to say, she was okay...but, it's an anxiety that we all have one way or another. Still, though, it's a gorgeous photo!

My daughter just started driving and my anxiety level rises every time she leaves. I find that I pray more than I used to. Great post, love the picture.

I do the exact same thing to my two daughters that are 21 and 22 and dont live at home anymore and to my son who is just starting to drive.. whether its raining or foggy or if i've heard the traffic report. I just have that nervous stomach until everyone is where they are supposed to be.
But what a pretty sight to see so early in the morning.

What a wonderful post! We have had a week of foggy mornings and while they are beautiful they do bring about that anxious feeling. As I was reading this I realized that to me, fog is so mysterious and lends to a fear of the "unknown". And I don't deal well with the unknown! LOL! Does anyone? It is all part of that letting go process and trusting God in all things...even in the fog. :-) Thanks so much for sharing this at Inspiration Friday!

I popped in from The Picket Fence. Beautiful photograph, and wonderful lesson. It's all about perspective.

Stopping by from The Picket Fence where my blog was also featured this week. (Aren't those two gals great?!!) Beautiful pic - and great reminder that God already - always - has everything under control! Be anxious for nothing...
